  • 8 oz penne pasta
  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 1 carrot, diced
  • 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 can (6 oz) tomato paste
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese


  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Cook the penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground turkey over medium heat until browned. Add the diced onion, garlic, bell pepper, and carrot. Cook until vegetables are tender.

  3. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, dried basil, dried oregano, red pepper flakes (if using), salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.

  4. In a greased baking dish, layer half of the cooked penne pasta, followed by half of the turkey Bolognese sauce. Repeat with remaining pasta and sauce.

  5. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the top. Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.

  6. Serve hot and enjoy!
