- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
Instructions
-
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, diced onions, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

Shape the mixture into 4 oval-shaped patties.

Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the patties and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

In the same skillet, add the sliced onions and cook until caramelized, about 8-10 minutes. Remove the onions from the skillet.

In a small saucepan, heat the beef broth over medium heat. Stir in the cornstarch mixture and cook until the gravy thickens, about 2-3 minutes.

Return the patties and caramelized onions to the skillet with the gravy. Cover and simmer for 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
-
Serve the Salisbury steak with the gravy and onions on top.
