How To Make Salisbury Steak with Mushrooms

Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
Instructions

In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, milk, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

Shape the mixture into 4 individual oval-shaped patties.

In a large skillet, heat butter over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes per side until browned and cooked through. Remove the patties from the skillet and set aside.

In the same skillet, add the sliced mushrooms and cook until golden brown.

Push the mushrooms to one side of the skillet and add the flour to the other side. Cook for a minute, then slowly whisk in the beef broth until smooth.

Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook until thickened, stirring occasionally.

Stir in the heavy cream and season with salt and pepper to taste.

Return the Salisbury steaks to the skillet and spoon the mushroom gravy over them. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.

Serve the Salisbury steaks with mushrooms and gravy over mashed potatoes or rice.
