How To Make Smoky Clam Chowder Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 stalks celery, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 4 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cans (6.5 oz each) chopped clams, drained
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, melt butter over medium heat. Add onions, celery, and garlic. Cook for 5 minutes or until vegetables are translucent.

  2. Stir in smoked paprika and flour and cook for an additional 2 minutes.

  3. Slowly pour in broth, whisking constantly to prevent lumps. Bring to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes.

  4. Add heavy cream and clams and simmer for 5 minutes or until heated through.

  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  6. Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley.
