How To Make Garlic Lemon Shrimp Marinade

This shrimp marinade made of garlic, lemon, and other spices makes a simple yet quick addicting seafood recipe to add in your favorite list!

  • 1lbshrimp,peeled and deveined, leave tails on for a nicer presentation
  • 4tbspolive oil
  • tbsphoney
  • tbspsoy sauce
  • 1tsplemon zest
  • 2tspfresh parsley leaves,chopped
  • 2tspfresh thyme leaves,chopped
  • ½tspsalt
  • ¼tsppepper
  • ¾tspgarlic,minced
  • ¼tspchili flakes,optional


  1. Place the olive oil, honey, soy sauce, lemon zest, parsley, thyme, salt and pepper in a bowl. Whisk to combine.

  2. Reserve 1 tablespoon of the marinade for later use. Add the garlic and chili flakes to the bowl.

  3. Add the shrimp and marinade to a resealable freezer bag and seal. Shake to coat the shrimp with the marinade.

  4. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or up to 8 hours.

  5. At this point you can broil, grill or saute the shrimp for 2 to 3 minutes per side or until pink and opaque.

  6. Drizzle the reserved marinade over the cooked shrimp, then serve.
