Ingredients
- 12 oz beer, bottled
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 2 lb halibut, (or cod fillets), skinless and bones removed, sliced into bite-size pieces
- oil, for frying
- salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat oil until bubbling.
- In a large bowl, gently whisk together the beer and flour.
- Season the batter with salt, pepper, and garlic powder then set aside.
- Season the halibut with extra salt and pepper before coating in beer batter.
- Fry the fish in oil until golden brown then drain on paper towels before serving!
