How To Make Copycat Red Lobster Batter-Fried Shrimp

  • lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup beer, or soda water, very cold
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • ¾ tsp msg, or Accent seasoning
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 5 cups vegetable oil, (to 8 cups), for frying

To Serve:

  • ¼ cup condiment of your choice


  1. Preheat your cooking oil ready for frying.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, beer or soda water, egg, your chosen seasoning, and salt. Whisk until it forms a batter, with a few lumps.

  3. Dip the shrimp into the batter, then deep fry in batches for roughly 3 minutes or until it becomes golden brown.

  4. Remove the shrimp from the oil and drain it on a basket lined with paper towels.

  5. You're now ready to enjoy your meal with your chosen condiment. Bon Appetit!
