How To Make Open-Faced Reuben Sandwich

A classic Reuben sandwich with an open-faced twist, loaded with corned beef, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, and Thousand Island dressing.

Total: 25 minutes



  • 4 slices rye bread
  • 1/2 pound thinly sliced corned beef
  • 1 cup sauerkraut
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • 1/4 cup Thousand Island dressing
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • Salt and pepper to taste


  1. Preheat your broiler.

  2. Brush melted butter on bread and season with salt and pepper.

  3. Place corned beef on bread and top with sauerkraut and a slice of Swiss cheese.

  4. Drizzle Thousand Island dressing on top and broil for 10-15 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.

  5. Serve hot.
