How To Make Cheese Rice
An improvement for your regular minute rice with the flavor of sharp cheddar and enriched with milk and eggs, plus a delicious kick from a bit of paprika.
Ingredients
- 1 cup rice, cooked, cooled
- 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, grated
- 2 cups milk
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp salt
- ¼ tsp paprika
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, chilled and cubed
To Serve:
- ¼ tsp parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 360 degrees F and grease a 10-inch baking casserole of your choice.
- In a mixing bowl, beat together the eggs, milk, salt, and paprika.
- Layer the rice at the bottom of your baking casserole, then cover with cheese.
- Pour over the egg mixture on top and dot with butter.
- Bake for 45 minutes until set and lightly brown.
- Garnish with parsley and serve.
