Delicious penne pasta with a creamy tomato basil sauce that’s perfect for a quick dinner.

  • 16 oz of penne pasta
  • 1 tbsp of olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 can of diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup of tomato paste
  • 1 tsp of dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp of salt
  • 1/4 tsp of black pepper
  • 1/2 cup of heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup of grated parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil, chopped (optional)


  1. Cook the penne pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside.

  2. In a large pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onion and garlic. Cook until onion is translucent.

  3. Add diced tomatoes, tomato paste, dried basil, salt, and black pepper. Cook for 5 minutes.

  4. Stir in heavy cream and parmesan cheese. Cook for 5 minutes or until sauce thickens.

  5. Add cooked pasta to the sauce. Mix well to coat the pasta with the sauce.

  6. Top with fresh basil if desired. Serve hot.
