Ingredients

  • 12 oz penne pasta
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the penne pasta according to package instructions, until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  2. In a microwave-safe dish, combine the tomato sauce, heavy cream, minced garlic, dried basil, dried oregano, and red pepper flakes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  3. Microwave the sauce mixture on high for 5 minutes, stirring halfway through.

  4. Add the cooked penne pasta to the sauce and stir well to coat. Microwave for another 5 minutes on high, stirring halfway through.

  5. Remove from the microwave and stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and creamy.

  6. Garnish with fresh basil and serve hot.
