Ingredients

  • 8 oz penne pasta
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving

Instructions

  1. Cook the penne pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

  3. Stir in the diced tomatoes, heavy cream, dried basil, and dried oregano. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  4. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for about 10 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened slightly.

  5. Add the cooked penne pasta to the skillet and toss until it is well coated with the creamy tomato sauce.

  6. Serve the creamy tomato penne hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese.
