Macaroni And Tomato Recipe


Savor a classic Southern comfort food with this macaroni and tomato dish. This recipe serves a filling pasta using four easy steps.

  • 2 cups macaroni, uncooked
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp bacon grease
  • 14 oz tomatoes, (1 can) petite diced
  • 14 oz tomatoes, (1 can) stewed
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • ½ tsp sugar
  • parmesan cheese, grated, optional


  1. Cook macaroni in boiling salted water for 8 minutes. Drain.
  2. Add the butter, bacon grease and both cans of tomatoes (undrained) to a medium pot. Bring to a boil and simmer for 5 miniutes.
  3. Add cooked macaroni, salt, pepper, and sugar. Mix well and simmer for another 2 to 3 minutes.
  4. Serve warm with Parmesan cheese if desired. Enjoy!
