How To Make Beef Kebabs

What’s a barbecue party without beef kebabs? This recipe uses sirloin chunks marinated in soy sauce, honey, red wine vinegar, and more for tasty skewers.

Total: 1 hour 35 minutes

Serves:

Ingredients

For Marinade:

  • cupolive oil,extra virgin
  • cupsoy sauce
  • 3tbspred wine vinegar
  • ¼cuphoney
  • 2clovesgarlic,minced
  • 1tbspginger,fresh, minced
  • black pepper,freshly ground, to taste

For Kebab:

  • lbstop sirloin steak,cut into 1½-inch cubes
  • 1bell pepper,large
  • 2red onions,medium
  • 1lbbutton mushrooms

Instructions

  1. Mix the marinade ingredients together in a bowl and add the meat. Cover and chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes, preferably several hours or even overnight.

  2. Cut the vegetables into chunks roughly the width of the beef pieces.

  3. Thread the meat and vegetables onto double bamboo skewers. Paint the kebabs with the remaining marinade.

  4. Prepare your grill for high, direct heat. Grill for 8 to 10 minutes, depending on how hot your grill is, and how done you would like your meat, turning occasionally.

  5. Let the meat rest for 5 minutes before serving.  

Recipe Notes

Soak the wood or bamboo skewers in water for at least 30 minutes before grilling. This will help prevent them from completely burning up on the grill.
