How To Make Bourbon Chicken in a Crockpot
Rich bourbon sauce makes the juiciest and tenderest of chicken. Cooked in the crockpot for hours, this bourbon chicken recipe is made to impress.
Ingredients
- 3lbschicken thighs,boneless skinless
- 3tbspcornstarch
- ¼cupgreen onions,sliced, or more to taste
For Sauce:
- ½tspfresh grated ginger
- 4clovesgarlic,minced
- ½tspred chili flakes,crushed
- â…“cupapple juice
- 1½tbsphoney
- ¼cupbrown sugar
- ¼cupketchup
- 3tbspcider vinegar
- ¼cupwater
- ¼cupbourbon
- ¼cupsoy sauce
- salt & pepper,to taste
Instructions

Mix all sauce ingredients in a small bowl.

Place chicken in slow cooker, pour sauce over top. Cover and cook on LOW SETTING 6 to 7 hours or on HIGH SETTING 3 hours.

Remove chicken and chop into bite sized pieces and cover to keep warm.

Meanwhile, combine 3 tablespoons water with cornstarch. Turn slow cooker up to high.

Whisk cornstarch slurry into the sauce. Cover and allow to thicken, stirring occasionally (about 10 minutes).

Stir chicken back into the sauce and add in green onions.

Serve over rice.
