How To Make Oven-Fried Beer Batter Baked Crumbed Shrimp

This baked crumbed shrimp is made with fresh shrimp dipped in a beer batter and coated in panko breadcrumbs for a crispy texture and served with sauce.

  • 1egg
  • 4tbspflour
  • 2tbspbeer
  • 1tspgarlic powder
  • salt,to taste
  • 2tbspwater
  • 1lbpeeled shrimp,deveined, tail intact
  • 1cuppanko breadcrumbs

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 410 degrees F. Lightly spray an oven tray with cooking oil spray; set aside.

  2. Whisk the egg in a small shallow bowl. Add in the flour, beer, garlic powder, salt, and water. Whisk slowly until all the ingredients come together then beat until the batter is smooth.

  3. Pat dry each prawn or shrimp until they are completely dry.

  4. Holding the shrimp or prawns by the tail; dip one shrimp or prawn at a time into the batter to evenly coat; gently shake off any excess then evenly coat them in the breadcrumbs. Place them onto the oven tray in a single layer.

  5. Bake for 10 minutes on one side; flip them and bake for a further 8 to 10 minutes or until cooked through.
