Ingredients

  • 1 head of cabbage, cut into wedges
  • 1 cup apple cider
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat the butter and olive oil over medium heat.

  2. Add the cabbage wedges to the skillet and cook until slightly browned, about 5 minutes on each side.

  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the apple cider, salt, pepper, cinnamon, nutmeg, and apple cider vinegar.

  4. Pour the cider mixture over the cabbage wedges in the skillet.

  5. Cover the skillet and cook over low heat for 30 minutes, or until the cabbage is tender.

  6. Serve the cider-braised cabbage wedges hot as a side dish or main course.
