Ingredients
- 1 medium red cabbage, thinly sliced
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 2 apples, peeled, cored, and chopped
- 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup red wine
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 3 cloves
- 1 bay leaf
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and cook until softened.

Stir in the red cabbage, apples, cinnamon stick, cloves, and bay leaf. Cook, stirring occasionally, for about 10 minutes.

In a small bowl, mix together the apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, and red wine. Pour the mixture over the cabbage mixture.

Season with salt and pepper to taste. Bring to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and cook for about 1 hour, or until the cabbage is tender, stirring occasionally.

Remove the lid and increase the heat to medium-high. Cook for another 10-15 minutes, or until the liquid has reduced and thickened.

Remove the cinnamon stick, cloves, and bay leaf before serving.
