How To Make Spiced Baked Figs with Ginger Mascarpone

A delightful dessert that combines the natural sweetness of figs with warm spices, topped with creamy ginger mascarpone.

Ingredients

  • 8 fresh figs
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/4 cup mascarpone cheese
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1 tsp honey

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. Cut a small cross at the top of each fig and gently squeeze to open them up slightly.

  3. Place the figs in a baking dish and drizzle with honey.

  4. Sprinkle the ground cinnamon, ground ginger, and ground nutmeg over the figs.

  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, until the figs soften and caramelize.

  6. In a small skillet, toast the chopped walnuts over medium heat until fragrant.

  7. In a small bowl, mix together the mascarpone cheese, grated ginger, and honey until well combined.

  8. Remove the figs from the oven and let them cool slightly.

  9. Serve the figs topped with a dollop of ginger mascarpone and a sprinkle of toasted walnuts.
