Ingredients

  • 2 cups of fresh red berries (strawberries, raspberries, or a mix)
  • ¼ cup of sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine the red berries, sugar, and lemon juice.

  2. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the berries have softened and released their juices, about 5 minutes.

  3. Use a spoon or blender to mash or purée the berries until smooth.

  4. If desired, strain the coulis through a fine-mesh sieve to remove any seeds.

  5. Let the coulis cool before serving. It can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
