Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh blackberries
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine the blackberries, sugar, and lemon juice.

  2. Cook over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes, until the blackberries soften and release their juices.

  3. Use a fork or a masher to gently mash the blackberries and break them down.

  4. Continue cooking for another 3-5 minutes, until the mixture thickens slightly.

  5. Remove from heat and let the coulis cool completely.

  6. If desired, strain the coulis through a fine mesh sieve to remove any seeds.

  7. Transfer the coulis to a jar or container and refrigerate until ready to use.
