How To Make Sardine Sushi

A delicious and healthy sushi roll filled with flavorful sardines.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 4 sheets of nori
  • 2 cups of sushi rice
  • 1/2 cup of rice vinegar
  • 2 tbsp of sugar
  • 1 tsp of salt
  • 4 canned sardines, drained and deboned
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 1 small cucumber, sliced
  • soy sauce and wasabi for serving

Instructions

  1. Cook sushi rice according to package instructions.

  2. In a small bowl, mix rice vinegar, sugar, and salt until dissolved.

  3. Mix the vinegar mixture into the cooked rice.

  4. Place a sheet of nori onto a sushi mat.

  5. Add a layer of sushi rice onto the nori, leaving a small border at the top.

  6. Place 1 sardine, avocado, and cucumber onto the rice.

  7. Roll the sushi tightly, sealing the border with a bit of water.

  8. Cut into 6-8 pieces.

  9. Serve with soy sauce and wasabi.
