How To Make Sunset Sangria

The orange, lemon, peaches, plums, and cinnamon sticks add a surprising taste to this classic Spanish cocktail.

  • 3 Tbsp sugar
  • 3 Tbsp spiced dark rum
  • 3 Tbsp orange liqueur
  • 1 orange, sliced
  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • 2 peaches, cut into wedges
  • 3 plums, cut into wedges
  • 2 sticks cinnamon
  • 1 bottle Rioja


  1. Combine sugar, rum, orange liqueur, fruits, and cinnamon sticks in a large pitcher.

  2. Cover with a bottle of wine and chill sangria for several hours.

  3. To serve, spoon fruits into glasses or goblets and pour over spiced wine.

  4. Top glasses of sangria off with a splash of soda water.
