How To Make Gimlet Cocktail

With just 4 ingredients, you can whip up a classic gimlet cocktail! It’s an invigorating and boozy drink, with just the right amount of sweet and tangy.

  • ¾ozsimple syrup
  • 1fresh lime,zested, optional
  • 2ozgin,like Plymouth Dry Gin, or Tanqueray
  • ¾ozlime juice,fresh


  1. Make a simple syrup with a 1:1 sugar and hot water ratio. Steep the lime zest in it for 10 minutes in a nonreactive container.

  2. Fine-strain this after 10 minutes. Reserve ¾ ounces and refrigerate the rest for future use.

  3. Combine the gin, simple syrup, and lime juice in a cocktail shaker. Add ice and shake for about 30 seconds, or until a frost forms on the shaker.

  4. Double strain into a chilled coupe or martini glass.

  5. Garnish with a lime wheel, serve, and enjoy!
