How To Make Pumpkin Butter

This pumpkin butter is a great way to have the flavors of pumpkin pie on a spread. You only need a few ingredients to make this from scratch.

  • cupspumpkin puree,homemade, not pumpkin pie filling
  • 1cuppacked brown sugar
  • ¾cupapple cider,or juice
  • 2tspvanilla extract
  • 3cinnamon sticks
  • 2tsppumpkin pie spice,to taste


  1. Combine pureed pumpkin, vanilla, apple juice, spices, cinnamon sticks and sugar in a large saucepan; stir well.

  2. Bring mixture to a boil. Reduce heat, and simmer for 30 to 40 minutes or until thickened. Stir frequently.

  3. Adjust spices to your taste.
