How To Make Fondant Cupcakes
Delicious cupcakes topped with smooth and creamy fondant icing.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 lb fondant icing, any color
- food coloring (optional)
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a cupcake tin with paper liners.

In a medium bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in vanilla extract.

Gradually add in flour mixture, alternating with milk, until batter is smooth.

Pour batter into cupcake liners and bake for 18-20 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Transfer cupcakes to a wire rack to cool completely.

Roll out fondant icing on a clean, flat surface and use cookie cutters to cut out shapes for decoration. Color fondant with food coloring, if desired.

Place fondant shapes on top of cooled cupcakes and serve.
