How To Make Fresh Fig Cookies

Ingredients
- 1 cup fresh figs, diced
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

Add the egg and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.

In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until a dough forms.

Fold in the diced figs.

Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart.

Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.

Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
