How To Make Peanut Butter Kisses

This peanut butter kisses recipe works as a quick sweet fix. You can make this sweet treat with the kids and then enjoy the fruits of your labor together!

  • ¾ cup all purpose flour
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • cup smooth peanut butter, (avoid using chunky)
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1 egg
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • tsp baking powder
  • 20 Hershey’s Kisses
  • ¼ cup sanding sugars, each for coating, preferably 3 colors (green, red, and orange)


  1. Preheat your oven to 360 degrees F and grease a baking sheet with cooking spray and line with parchment paper.

  2. In a small bowl, sift together flour and baking powder. Set aside.

  3. In a mixing bowl attached to a hand beater, cream together the sugar, peanut butter, and butter for roughly 8 to 10 minutes until fluffy and light.

  4. Add in the egg and vanilla extract and continue creaming.

  5. Fold in the sifted flour mixture into the butter mixture until evenly incorporated. Set aside.

  6. Prepare a coating station with your sanding sugar of choice, 1 color per bowl, and your kisses candies ready.

  7. Roll your cookie dough into 2-inch balls, roughly 1½ oz. Coat this in 1 of your sanding sugars, then place these onto your baking sheet.

  8. Repeat until you have consumed all your cookie dough, alternating between various colors of sanding sugars.

  9. Transfer to your oven and bake for roughly 7 to 9 minutes until lightly browned at the bottom and puffed. Note that your cookies are still raw at this point.

  10. Working quickly to avoid your cookie hardening and becoming inedible, press roughly 1 to 3 chocolate blossoms at the top of the cookies. You should see it slightly crack and that is alright.

  11. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 3 to 5 minutes or until fully baked.

  12. Set aside onto cooling racks and allow to cool completely before enjoying your Peanut Butter Kisses!
