There is nothing better than delicious and classic dense brownies. Chocolate lovers will adore the following recipe. This brownie is so chocolatey, it almost resembles a block of homemade fudge. Instead of frosting, we added powdered sugar so as to not take away from the brownie’s decadent flavor. As a result, you have yourself a rich and delicious dessert option. It is best to cut the brownie into smaller squares because of the dense texture.
Classic Dense Brownies with Powdered Sugar Recipe
- 3 oz unsweetened chocolate
- 1 stick butter
- 1 ⅓ cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2/3 cup flour
- Powdered sugar to sprinkle on top
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Prepare 8x8 inch pan. Line with parchment and grease.
In a double boiler, melt chocolate and butter.
Stir until completely smooth and then remove from heat.
- Whisk in sugar, eggs, vanilla, and salt.
Stir in flour. Make sure not to overmix.
Spread batter into pan. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes. If you stick a toothpick in the cake, it should come out clean.
Allow it to cool completely. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and cut into squares before serving.
