How To Make Authentic Middle Eastern Hummus (Chummus) Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 cans of chickpeas (15 oz each), drained and rinsed
  • 1/3 cup of tahini
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • Juice of 2 lemons
  • 1/4 cup of olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cumin
  • Salt, to taste
  • Paprika and olive oil for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a food processor, combine the chickpeas, tahini, minced garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, cumin, and salt. Blend until smooth and creamy.

  2. If the hummus is too thick, add a splash of water and blend again.

  3. Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed.

  4. Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl and drizzle with olive oil. Sprinkle paprika on top for extra flavor.

  5. Serve with pita bread, vegetable sticks, or as a spread for sandwiches. Enjoy!
