How To Make Israeli Falafel Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup dried chickpeas, soaked overnight
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 cup fresh parsley leaves
  • 1/2 cup fresh cilantro leaves
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Drain the soaked chickpeas and pat dry with a paper towel.

  2. In a food processor, combine the chickpeas, onion, garlic, parsley, cilantro, cumin, coriander, baking soda, salt, and pepper. Pulse until the mixture turns into a coarse paste.

  3. Shape the mixture into small balls and place on a lined baking sheet.

  4. Heat the oil in a deep-fryer or a frying pan over medium-high heat.

  5. Fry the falafel balls until golden brown and crispy.

  6. Serve hot with hummus, salad, and pita bread.
