How To Make Italian Lasagna

Ingredients
- 9 lasagna noodles
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 (28-ounce) can crushed tomatoes
- 1 (6-ounce) can tomato paste
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions

Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

In a large skillet, cook the ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat until the beef is browned and the onion is soft.

Stir in the dried oregano, dried basil, crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, water, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Spread a thin layer of the meat sauce in the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish. Place 3 lasagna noodles on top.

Spread half of the ricotta cheese over the noodles, followed by a third of the meat sauce. Sprinkle with a third of the mozzarella cheese and a third of the Parmesan cheese.

Repeat the layers, ending with a layer of meat sauce and sprinkling the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.

Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is golden and bubbly.

Let the lasagna rest for 10 minutes before cutting into squares and serving.
