How To Make Old Spaghetti Factory Lasagna Recipe

A classic Italian lasagna recipe made with layers of pasta, meat sauce, and a creamy cheese mixture.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz. lasagna noodles, cooked
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (28 oz.) crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp. tomato paste
  • 1 tsp. dried basil
  • 1 tsp. dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
  • 8 oz. ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.

  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat.

  3. Add the onion and garlic to the skillet and sauté until softened.

  4. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper.

  5. In a separate bowl, mix together the ricotta cheese, Parmesan cheese, and egg.

  6. In a 9×13 inch baking dish, spread a layer of the meat sauce on the bottom.

  7. Top with a layer of cooked lasagna noodles, followed by a layer of the cheese mixture and a layer of shredded mozzarella cheese.

  8. Repeat layers, finishing with a layer of meat sauce and mozzarella cheese on top.

  9. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.

  10. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

  11. Let lasagna rest for 10 minutes before serving.
