Ingredients

  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 green chili, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Let them crackle.

  2. Add sliced onions and sauté until golden brown and caramelized.

  3. Add green chili, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric powder, and garam masala. Mix well.

  4. Cook for a few minutes until the spices are well combined and fragrant.

  5. Remove from heat and let the mixture cool.

  6. Transfer the cooled mixture to a blender and blend until smooth.

  7. Add lemon juice and salt. Blend again until everything is well incorporated.

  8. Transfer the onion dipping sauce to a serving bowl.

  9. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.

  10. Serve with your favorite snacks or appetizers.
