
How To Make Fresh Ginger Cookies

- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons fresh ginger, grated
- 1/4 cup crystallized ginger, finely chopped
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ground ginger, cloves, and salt.

In a separate large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

Beat in the molasses, egg, and grated fresh ginger until well combined.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

Fold in the finely chopped crystallized ginger.

Drop rounded spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
