Serves:
Ingredients
- 500g bread flour
- 10g salt
- 1 packet (7g) instant yeast
- 350ml lukewarm water
Instructions
-
In a large mixing bowl, combine the bread flour, salt, and instant yeast. Mix well.
-
Gradually add the lukewarm water to the dry ingredients, stirring with a wooden spoon until a shaggy dough forms.
-
Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes, until the dough becomes smooth and elastic.
-
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
-
Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C) and place a baking tray with water on the bottom rack to create steam.
-
Punch down the risen dough and shape it into a round loaf. Place the loaf on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
-
Score the top of the loaf with a sharp knife and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
-
Bake the bread in the preheated oven for about 30-40 minutes, or until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
-
Remove from the oven and let the bread cool on a wire rack before slicing.
