How To Make Bubba Gump Shrimp Jambalaya Recipe
Spicy, flavorful and loaded with shrimp, this classic Cajun dish is perfect for a family dinner fiesta.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 red bell pepper, chopped
- 2 celery stalks, chopped
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 2 tsp cajun seasoning
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 cups cooked rice
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Chopped parsley or green onion, for garnish
Instructions

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Add the onion, bell pepper, and celery and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds, until fragrant.

Add the diced tomatoes, chicken broth, cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, thyme, cayenne pepper, and bay leaf. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and let simmer for 20 minutes.

Add the shrimp and cook for 5-6 minutes, until cooked through.

Fold in cooked rice and season with salt and pepper to taste.

Remove the bay leaf and garnish with chopped parsley or green onion before serving.
