How To Make Chicken Parmesan Sandwich Recipe

This classic Italian-American sandwich features crispy breaded chicken, marinara sauce, and melted mozzarella cheese on a soft bun.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 4 slices mozzarella cheese
  • 4 sandwich rolls

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.

  2. In a shallow dish, combine breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese.

  3. In another shallow dish, beat eggs with salt and black pepper.

  4. Dip each chicken breast in the egg mixture, then coat in the breadcrumb mixture.

  5. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

  6. Cook the chicken breasts for 4-6 minutes on each side, until golden brown and cooked through.

  7. Place the chicken breasts on a baking sheet and top each with a generous spoonful of marinara sauce.

  8. Place a slice of mozzarella cheese on top of each chicken breast.

  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  10. Toast the sandwich rolls and assemble the sandwiches with the chicken Parmesan, extra marinara sauce, and additional Parmesan cheese, if desired.
