How To Make Christmas Morning Wife Saver (Breakfast Casserole)
Breakfast bowls are really convenient because all you have to do is literally toss together the ingredients in a bowl, and you’ve got yourself a hearty breakfast. You might have already seen the trendy bowls of quinoa seeds with fruits and nuts around social media. But did you know that you can have savory renditions of this morning meal, too? Ingredients
- 8 slices of bread
- 1/2 lb of cooked bacon, chopped
- 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
- 6 eggs
- 2 cups of milk
- 1 tsp of dry mustard
- 1/2 tsp of salt
- 1/4 tsp of black pepper
- 1/4 cup of melted butter
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.

Line the bottom of the baking dish with 4 slices of bread. Cut the remaining 4 slices into cubes and set aside.

Sprinkle the cooked bacon over the bread in the dish, followed by the shredded cheddar cheese.

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, dry mustard, salt, and black pepper. Pour this mixture over the bread, bacon, and cheese in the dish.

Arrange the bread cubes on top and press down lightly to submerge them in the egg mixture. Drizzle the melted butter over the bread cubes.

Cover the dish with foil and refrigerate overnight.

In the morning, remove the dish from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for 30 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the casserole, covered with foil, for 30 minutes. Then remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the center is set.

Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
