Preparation: 15 minutes
Cooking: 20 minutes
Total: 35 minutes

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 cup rye flour
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp caraway seeds
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the rye flour, all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, caraway seeds, onion powder, and garlic powder.

  3. Gradually add the olive oil and water to the dry ingredients, mixing well until a dough forms.

  4. Divide the dough into 2 equal portions and roll each portion out into a thin rectangle between two sheets of parchment paper.

  5. Remove the top sheet of parchment paper from each rectangle and use a knife or pizza cutter to cut the dough into desired cracker shapes or rectangles.

  6. Transfer the crackers, still on the parchment paper, to the prepared baking sheet.

  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the crackers are golden brown and crispy.

  8. Remove from the oven and let cool on a wire rack before serving.
