How To Make Humdinger Classic Hummus Recipe
This classic hummus is a simple, inexpensive, and relatively healthy appetizer made with a delicious chickpea purée, a great add-on to your celebration.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 1cangarbanzo beans,(chickpeas)
- 1garlic clove
- 3tbsptahini,(sesame seed paste)
- 1tbspolive oil
- salt
- 1lemon
- water,optional
- paprika,optional
- 2pcspita bread,cut into wedges, optional
- 1medium cucumber
- 2medium carrots
Instructions
-
Open the can of garbanzo beans. Strain the juice, and rinse the beans with fresh water.
-
Put the beans into the blender. Add the garlic, tahini, olive oil, and salt to the blender or food processor
-
Squeeze the juice from the lemon into the blender (A good trick is to hold hand over the blender and let the juice dribble between fingers to be able to catch the seeds, or use a strainer). Put the lid on the blender, and blend away until smooth,
-
Stop the blender, and use the rubber spatula to push the ingredients off of the sides and into the center. If the mixture is too stiff, blend in a little water to thin it out.
-
Scrape the hummus with the rubber spatula into a serving dish. Sprinkle a little paprika on top.
