How To Make Apple and Tomato Chutney

Use it as a dipping sauce for freshly-made naan bread, as a toast spread, or pair it with curries. So if you’re interested, you’ll have lots of fun playing around with these chutney recipes.

Ingredients
- 2 apples, peeled and chopped
- 4 tomatoes, chopped
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1-inch piece of ginger, grated
- 1 green chili, finely chopped
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp oil
- 2 tbsp vinegar
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
Instructions

Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds and mustard seeds. Let them crackle.

Add the chopped onions, minced garlic, grated ginger, and green chili. Saute until onions turn translucent.

Add the chopped apples and tomatoes. Cook for 5 minutes until they soften.

Add red chili powder, turmeric powder, and salt. Mix well and cook for another 5 minutes.

Add vinegar and brown sugar. Mix well and cook for 20-25 minutes until the chutney thickens and attains a jam-like consistency.

Allow the chutney to cool down and transfer it to a sterilized jar. Refrigerate and serve chilled.
