Preparation: 15 minutes
Cooking: 25 minutes
Total: 40 minutes

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground lamb
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • For the Yogurt Sauce:
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.

  2. In a large bowl, mix together the ground lamb, egg, breadcrumbs, minced garlic, oregano, thyme, cumin, salt, and black pepper until well combined.

  3. Using your hands, shape the mixture into 12 equal-sized meatballs.

  4. Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook for 3-4 minutes, or until browned on all sides.

  5. Transfer skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through.

  6. While the meatballs are cooking, prepare the yogurt sauce by combining the yogurt, lemon juice, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper in a small bowl. Stir until smooth and chill until ready to serve.

  7. Serve the meatballs hot, topped with the yogurt sauce and chopped fresh parsley.
