Tender lamb meatballs with a blend of herbs and spices served with a tangy yogurt sauce.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground lamb
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- For the Yogurt Sauce:
- 1/2 cup plain yogurt
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 400°F.
-
In a large bowl, mix together the ground lamb, egg, breadcrumbs, minced garlic, oregano, thyme, cumin, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
-
Using your hands, shape the mixture into 12 equal-sized meatballs.
-
Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook for 3-4 minutes, or until browned on all sides.
-
Transfer skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through.
-
While the meatballs are cooking, prepare the yogurt sauce by combining the yogurt, lemon juice, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper in a small bowl. Stir until smooth and chill until ready to serve.
-
Serve the meatballs hot, topped with the yogurt sauce and chopped fresh parsley.
