Preparation: 10 minutes
Cooking: 15 minutes
Total: 25 minutes

  • 4 large portobello mushrooms
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish

  1. Clean the portobello mushrooms by gently wiping them with a damp cloth. Remove the stems and slice the mushrooms into thick strips.

  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.

  3. Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet and season with dried thyme, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to coat the mushrooms in the seasonings.

  4. Cook the mushrooms for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they have released their moisture and are tender.

  5. Drizzle the balsamic vinegar over the mushrooms and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, stirring to combine.

  6. Remove from heat and garnish with fresh parsley.

  7. Serve the sautéed portobello mushrooms as a side dish or as a vegetarian main course with rice or quinoa.
