  • 8 ounces macaroni
  • 1 can tuna, drained
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 1/2 cup diced bell pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs

Instructions

  1. Cook the macaroni according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.

  2. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

  3. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the onions, bell peppers, and garlic. Cook until the vegetables are softened.

  4. Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes. Gradually whisk in the milk and bring to a simmer. Cook until the sauce thickens.

  5. Remove the skillet from the heat and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and smooth.

  6. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked macaroni, tuna, frozen peas, and cheese sauce. Stir until well coated.

  7. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×9-inch baking dish. Sprinkle breadcrumbs and paprika on top.
