How To Make Mongolian Tofu Recipe
A flavorful vegetarian version of the classic Mongolian Beef dish, made with crispy tofu and a sweet, spicy sauce.

Ingredients
- 14 oz. block of extra-firm tofu
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1/3 cup hoisin sauce
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp grated ginger
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
- 4 green onions, sliced (white and green parts separated)
- Cooked rice or noodles, for serving
Instructions

Press tofu to remove excess water, then cut into 1-inch cubes and coat in cornstarch.

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add tofu and cook until crispy and golden brown on all sides.

In a small bowl, whisk together hoisin sauce, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes.

Add sauce to skillet with tofu and stir to coat. Cook for 1-2 minutes until sauce has thickened and tofu is coated.

Serve over rice or noodles, garnished with sliced green onions.
