These cabbage steaks are a unique way to enjoy a staple vegetable. Cabbage is seasoned and baked in the oven in this 45-minute dish.

  • 1cabbage
  • 2tbspolive oil
  • Salt and pepper,to taste
  • 1tbspbutter,melted
  • parsley,or thyme, fresh


  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

  2. Slice cabbage into ½-inch thick rounds. Brush each side with olive oil.

  3. Place on a baking sheet (cut rounds in half if needed). Roast 20 to 25 minutes. Flip and roast another 15 to 20 minutes or until cabbage is tender. Broil 1 to 2 minutes if desired.

  4. Drizzle with butter and serve.
