Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup diced onions
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese
  • Sour cream, salsa, and guacamole for topping

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add water and mix until a soft dough forms. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth.

  2. Divide the dough into 4 equal parts and shape each portion into a flat, round disk.

  3. In a deep skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Fry each dough disk in the hot oil until golden brown and puffed, about 2-3 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.

  4. In a separate skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain any excess fat. Add the taco seasoning and water according to the package instructions. Simmer for 5 minutes.

  5. To assemble the tacos, place a fried bread disk on a plate. Top with a scoop of the ground beef mixture, followed by lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and cheese. Add sour cream, salsa, and guacamole to taste.

  6. Serve immediately and enjoy!
