Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp curry powder
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a saucepan over medium heat.

  2. Add onions and garlic, and sauté until onions are translucent.

  3. Stir in curry powder and cook for 1 minute.

  4. Add tomato paste and cook for another minute.

  5. Add ketchup, water, Worcestershire sauce, and brown sugar. Stir well to combine.

  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  7. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  8. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

  9. Transfer mixture to a blender or use an immersion blender to blend until smooth.

  10. Serve the currywurst sauce over grilled sausages or fries.
