How To Make Pan Fried Steak

You'll be surprised by how simple this pan fried steak recipe is. This seasoned meat dish is tender, buttery, & made with just 5 ingredients.

  • 2 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
  • ribeye steak, boneless
  • Kosher salt
  • black pepper, freshly ground
  • 2 tbsp butter


  1. In a medium skillet over medium-high heat, heat oil. Season steak with salt and pepper on both sides. When oil is just about to smoke, add steak.

  2. Cook 7 minutes, then flip and add butter. Baste with butter and cook another 5 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 140 degrees F for medium.

  3. Remove from pan and let rest 5 minutes before cutting.
  4. Serve and enjoy!
